Our Story
A house built by two people who were never ‘supposed’ to be in fashion — and a city that taught them how.
Gulabo Jaipur began in 2014, in the sun-warmed lanes of the Pink City. It was founded by Saloni Panwar and Salman Malawat — a pair with no formal training in fashion, but an unshakeable love for Jaipur’s block-print heritage and the karigars who keep it alive. Saloni holds a Master’s in English; Salman is a law graduate from Symbiosis Law School, Pune. Between them, not a single fashion course — only taste, patience, and stubborn belief.
There were no investors, no paid ads, no shortcuts. Every piece was hand-block printed on pure, natural fabric and slow-made in small batches. We grew the way the craft demands — organically, one delighted customer at a time — until word of mouth did what a marketing budget never could.
The work spoke for itself. Our pieces have been worn by Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Janhvi Kapoor and Shamita Shetty; we took our craft to the stage of Shark Tank India, and were recognised with an MSME award — all while staying entirely bootstrapped. Today, Gulabo Jaipur dresses women across the country in everyday cottons and heirloom bridal alike, still made the same slow, honest way.
Two people who were never “supposed” to be in fashion

Saloni Panwar
An English postgraduate turned self-taught designer, Saloni is the eye behind every print, palette and silhouette. She learned the craft the old way — beside Jaipur’s printers and tailors — and it shows in the detail of every set.

Salman Malawat
A law graduate from Symbiosis Law School, Pune, Salman traded the courtroom for the craft. He runs the business, the karigar network and the promise behind every parcel — proof that the best founders are the ones who simply refuse to cut corners.
Hand-Block Printed
Every metre pressed by hand, one bloom at a time.
Pure, Natural Fabrics
Cotton, mul, chanderi & silk — made to be lived in.
Made by Jaipur Karigars
Fair, slow-made work that keeps a craft alive.
